Tenderloin Public Space and Parks

From 2020 to 2023, I served as Director of Inviting Space for the Tenderloin Community Benefit District. I worked with residents, non-profits, and City officials to lead the advocacy, planning, development, and implementation of new public green spaces and parks in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. I carried out numerous public space projects, both temporary programming and permanent infrastructure projects.

Select projects included:

Tenderloin Park Network

Secured City and foundation funding to create a robust Park Stewardship program, with a staff of 19 park captains, ensuring that Tenderloin parks could be safely enjoyed by residents and families.

Dodge Alley

Worked with residents and block partners to transform Dodge Place, a neglected alleyway in the Tenderloin -currently burdened with intense open air drug use and violence – into a healthy, activated, and aesthetically positive community experience for nearby families and seniors. Received a 2022 AARP Community Challenge grant.
