In July 2019 I completed a two-week residency at Dream Farm Commons, an artist run exhibition and project space in Downtown Oakland where radical imagination, visual works, and social practice are happening. I spent that time exploring the block, talking to people, learning the history of the neighborhood, and seeing what I could offer to the block in such a short span of time.

I took snippets of the conversations that I had with people and created large text-based pieces using those words. I also took part in a community activation that invited others to sit down in public space outside the gallery and draw something about the neighborhood.
